The Importance Of Social Video In Real Estate - YouTube, Instagram, Twitter/Vine

Social media users have been buzzing over the recent introduction of Instagram video. The new addition to the popular photo-sharing network allows people to record 15 seconds of video and share it through their existing Instagram account. You can also add a choice of 13 filters built specifically for video, as well as select a favorite scene to choose as the cover image when sharing video.

The new service is a direct response to Twitter’s Vine app, a program that debuted in January 2013 and records six seconds of video that can be shared socially and play in a loop. The number of links to Vine videos fell dramatically after the new video feature was launched on Instagram.

Both of these services show the importance of video as a method of communication online. Although both services have received a strong response, they pale in comparison to the power of YouTube. Statistics from YouTube show that they receive more than 1 billion unique visitors each month and over 6 billion hours of videos are watched (50% more than last year).

Video is an important part of selling real estate, bringing the pictures to life and sharing that experience on YouTube is one of the things that makes Rodeo Realty properties stand out among the rest.

Our dedicated property websites and our videos on YouTube give potential buyers a chance to see the property in a shareable and immersive experience before they ever walk through the door of a home.
